The axle trusses included in this kit are made of highly durable, 0.125-inch-thick mild steel to ensure maximum axle protection when driving on extremely rugged roads. Additionally, these trusses come with dimpled holes to minimize weight without compromising durability.
Durable Control Arm Skids and Inner Gussets. For extra durability, this Axle Armor includes lower control arm skid plates. They are made of 0.25-inch-thick steel that is cut and formed to guarantee maximum durability and precision. They are engineered to help fortify the lower control arms and protect them against damage caused by impacts. Additionally, this kit comes with heavy-duty inner C gussets that are made of 0.187-inch-thick steel for maximum strength and longer-lasting performance.

Artec Industries JL Shield Skid Plates
Artec Industries' new JL Shield is constructed from heavy duty 1/4 in. thick steel, twice the thickness of the OEM skid plate! The new design also uses countersunk flat head bolts for improved smoothness on the bottom, meaning you'll have less edges to catch on rocks. To improve the smoothness, they've eliminated unnecessary edges and extended the leading edge to the front of the axle and included an angled flange to protect the axle and allow rocks to glide under. The JL Shield is fully welded and hard powdercoated for direct bolt-on installation and a long life.

Artec Industries APEX rear axle trusses bring a whole new level of cost savings, strength, weight savings, simplicity of installation, precision fitment, and complete axle protection never before seen in the industry. Their key feature is their unique peaked shape top which provides extra rigidity to the whole truss while allowing both a reduction in weight (vs using a thicker material top) and eliminating long weld seams--which can be lead to extra weld warping of the axle, longer install times, and inconsistency. The peaked structure strengthens the area between the coil perches and over the differential forming a solid structure where its typically most weak.
