The Teraflex Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount is designed to accommodate up to a 40” tire on your Jeep Wrangler JL. The TeraFlex Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier will secure your full-size spare tire and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount over the most extreme trails and rugged terrain. It also provides easy access to the rear cargo area in one smooth action. Using the factory tailgate hinge mounting points spreads the load of the spare tire over a larger area for maximum strength and durability. The Tire Carrier spans nearly the width of the tailgate for better weight distribution. Internal gussets and bracing in the stock JL body support the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and oversized tire, which eliminates all stress from the tailgate. Teraflex designed this tire carrier in a one-piece, forged steel hinge design that ties the top and bottom factory hinge locations together as well as additional vertical braces for increased strength. The Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier also provides additional mounting points for off-road accessories such as a recovery jack and fluid containers. The Tire Mount can support the additional weight of a full-size spare tire by securely mounting the tire to the Tire Carrier and tailgate.
